What You Will Do:
Completes general production work using MIG/TIG and electrical welding techniques with related metal working tools, fixtures and aides.

Follows all written and verbal procedures pertaining to welding operations.

Performs cutting and welding operations on steel equipment and machines.

Adheres to qualification standards in GMAW/ GTAW certifications

Knows and complies with all safety policies and procedures.

Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbols

Maintains the department housekeeping to be organized, clean and safe environment and maintains 5 + 1 “S” standards.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

May require working weekends, and/or extended shift hours.

Utilize forklift to move objects.

Contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.

Maintains a clean and well-organized work area.

Maintains confidentiality of all matters.

Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with trade school diploma from an accredited program or equivalent education and/or experience.

Up to two years of experience as a GMAW / GTAW certified welder.

Must have at least one year of experience in TIG and MIG welding

Weld under ASME and NACE Specifications

Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys.

Knowledge of operating MIG, TIG and Stick welders.

Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite – Picks up on technical things quickly; can learn new skills and knowledge is good at learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge; does well in technical courses and seminars.

Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to stand for the entire work day.

The employee regularly lifts and carries 75 lbs. and occasionally lifts and carries up to 150 lbs.

Employee is able to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
