Who You Are…

As a Pipe Welder you are responsible for cutting and joining mild or stainless-steel, and other materials, and equipment operation for assembly of structures with precision.

Participate in all safe start meetings.

Ability to pass the API1104 and ASME B31.1 through B31.8 Weld Test

Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Follow and initiate 5S standards to maintain work area.

Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on specifications

Layout, design and fabricate metal parts using numerous different tools, equipment, and techniques.

Welding, cutting, fitting, bending, and assembling of metal parts.

Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)

Inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.

Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Complete pre-operation equipment inspections and report any issues identified.

All other duties as assigned.

What Do You Need…

HS Diploma or equivalent

1 to 2 years proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment

Related degree from a technical college, a preferred.

Must be able to observe and recognize problems during the welding process and adjust speed, voltage, amperage, or feed of the rod accordingly.

Must be able to read and interpret prints and plans.

Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience required.

Perform code (ASME, AWS or API) compliant welds using GMAW, GTAW, SAW, & FCAW processes.

Properly use fabrication shop hand tools. (grinders, drills, air tools, etc.).

Must be able to weld qualification test coupon for:
FCAW and/or GMAW welding process in the 3G & 4G position using Carbon Steel plate.

GTAW and SAW welding processes in the 6G position with Carbon and/or Stainless-Steel pipe

Must be able to read & understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings

ASME pipe welding experience.

Some Fit-up & layout experience on structural/misc. steel and pipe spools.

Familiarity with weld inspections and related NDE (RT, MT, PT)

Pipe welding experience with ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and API 1104 codes.

Familiarity with weld inspections, inspection documentation and NDE (RT, UT, MT, PT)
