Job Title: Fabrication Welder III

BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY

Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Ignite torches or start power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to

metals being welded, completing electrical circuits.

Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.

Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments, using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance welding, and submerged arc welding.

Learn and become conversant with all Frank’s philosophies, policies, and procedures including safety, quality, operational, and environmental training.

Other duties that as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

High School/GED preferred

8+ years of directly related experience.

Excellent skills in welding process and various configurations.

Read and understand terminology, blueprints, drawings and schematics to plan installation, modification or repair prior to commencing the process.

Excellent knowledge in materials and how to match them up with welding procedures under little to no guidance.

Can perform all work required as a Welder and will provide mentoring to junior welders.

Must possess strong leadership skills

Must be able to crawl into smaller to larger diameter pipe including confined spaces for welding and grinding purposes.
