Overview

Job Summary

The responsibilities of the Welder position include positioning, aligning, fitting, and welding parts to form complete boom crane units or sub-units, following blueprints and layout specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools. Welders will lift or move materials and finished products, using overhead cranes, hoists, and conveyors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work flow and lay out jobs. Inspect parts for adherence to specifications; grind or torch as needed.
  • Read and interpret specifications and documents to define the scope of work on work orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions from OEM drawings and schematics.
  • Inspect surfaces of cranes and crane parts; determine b

  • Move parts to be welded in and out of weld-line.
  • Ensure technical specifications and quality standards are met at all levels.
  • Complete all required paperwork.
  • Operate Class B forklifts
  • Assist in maintaining the flow of work through the department.
  • Ensure production specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Operate and perform final check of finished products.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Follow and comply with all safety regulations and practices.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a welder.
  • Ability to operate hoist and frequently lift and carry tools and parts
  • Ability in using tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)
  • Good understanding of quality control principles

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $24.00 per hour
