Overview
Helical pile solutions (HPS) LTD is currently seeking a welding inspector Level 2 to join our QAQC team. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a welder inspector and hold Level 2 CWB – CSA W178.2 Certifications.
Other Requirements:
Diploma of Welding Engineering Technology is preferred.
CSA W59 Code endorsements – Certified to these codes with experience.
Experience working in structural and or pipe fabrication related industry.
Magnetic particle testing (MT) certification is an asset.
Computer Experience – A basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
An understanding of Quality Inspection Procedures, tools, and equipment.
Time management skills and multi tasking.
Excellent people skills with an ability to share experiences and knowledge with other.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Inspect raw materials and verify that documentation, grade, specifications, and dimensions meet the requirements of the purchase order, standards, and quality procedures.
Confirm heat numbers are consistent with Material Testing Reports (MTR’s) provided by supplier and retain copies of MTRs in proper locations for reference and retrieval.
Conduct visual inspections on welds to ensure compliance with internal Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) acceptance criteria.
Complete verification of final products and label them based on the requirements of the work order and/or shop drawing.
Ensure that non-conforming products are identified, recorded, and controlled.
Review and retain the records of finished work order packages and ensure all operations were completed properly.
Comply with the quality standard set by HPS and its clients.
Observe and follow HPS health and safety requirements.
