To support the on-going growth of our business, we are currently seeking a hands on, safety oriented and experienced Journeyperson Welder to join our West Edmonton team The ideal candidate will be able to think outside the box when it comes to repairing and designing all types of equipment. Apprentice Welder’s are also welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete the appropriate paperwork, forms, and reports
  • Complete work orders and ensure any parts and consumables used are documented
  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
  • Weld different types of metal in vertical up, overhead, gouging and hard facing positions
  • Structural assembly
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and brazing and soldering equipment
  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening, pressing, and bending machines
  • Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers
  • Use any hand tools that may be required for tasks
  • Help to find new ways or processes to complete the jobs in a more efficient manner
  • Provide high quality service to internal and external customers
  • Ability to work in the absence of direct supervision and make recommendations based upon experience
  • Assist as needed in plant maintenance or parts replacement
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs

Education and Experience

  • Journeyperson Welder Certificate, but not required
  • Red Seal Certificate is an asset but not required
  • B-Pressure and CWB Ticket is an asset but not required
  • Minimum 5 years’ welding experience, ideally in a similar heavy industrial setting
