Fundamental Job Duties
Basic safety
Proper identification, use and care of hand tools
Proper identification, use and care of power tools
Perform clean up duties
Basic rigging
Basic blueprints
Reading welding detail drawings
Preheating and positioning of metals
Base metal preparation
Smaw equipment and setup
Smaw open root pipe welds
Perform rigging hand signals
Basic math
Shielded metal arc electrodes and selection
Smaw beads and fillet welds
Smaw groove welds and backing
Oxyfuel cutting
Join fit-up and alignment
Stainless steel groove welds
GTAW equipment and filler metals
GTAW plate
GTAW carbon steel pipe
Weld quality
Qualifications
MENTAL DEMANDS
Understand and carry out oral instructions
Read and interpret detail prints and documents
Read and carry out simple written instructions
Assemble and disassemble objects
Read and carry out complicated written instructions
Operate complex equipment and power tools
Work at varying heights
Operate small equipment and power tools
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work in extreme heat
Work in cramped quarters
