Job Summary

Valve products include globe, control, gate, butterfly, ball, and surge relief valves. Brands include M&J Valve and Copes-Vulcan.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

Performs welding according to layout, shop prints and work orders using two or more of these welding processes, FCAW, SMAW, GMAW, SAW per ASME code.

FCAW Welding of tops and bottoms, ribs, tie plates, transion pc to hub welds.

SMAW 3 G welding of couplings, pick up welding, x-ray repair.

GMAW, stringer pass open root for flange weldments, x-ray repair.

SAW, run subarc on positioner table x-ray quality, subarc on seam welding and overlay.

Reports completed operations through data collections.

Operate track burner and do beveling.

Fit up parts and tack weld according to shop drawings.

Maintains work area and equipment to weld shop housekeeping policy.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic math, print reading and the ability to read radiography film are required.

Education and Experience

High school education or equivalent is preferred.

Must be certified with ASME welding procedures.

Two to three years of diversified welding experience covering a broad range of welding techniques, practices and material characteristics is required for proficiency.
