Job Summary:
As a Welding Team Lead, you will lead day to day activities in the departments, provide coaching to the team as needed and communicate with the department manager. Successful candidates will also be skilled in MIG & TIG welding of aluminum or stainless-steel assemblies.
Job Duties:
Responsible for the safety, quality, and production of the areas assigned
Routinely meets with the Production Manager to discuss the department’s work order status and progress and inform any departmental personnel issues and production problems
Assists with the coordination, direction, and assignment of personnel and tasks within the applicable department. Answers questions pertaining to work in progress and provide guidance and assistance as necessary
Performs the supervision of the department’s production activity in the absence of the Manager
May be responsible for resolving parts/material and assigned interdepartmental production issues and problems, reconciling and processing paperwork, and performing the common tasks of other department personnel
Will be assigned additional continuous improvement projects to be completed in addition to daily activities
Lay out and position, align and fit together parts of metal according to blueprints, sketches in preparation for welding
Perform MIG or TIG welding of steel assemblies and operates cutting torch
Ensure that parts received are of satisfactory quality and the work performed meets production standards
Discontinue work process to immediately notify supervisor of any/all quality defects
Record and report work order information and production times as required
Maintain clean and orderly working area at all times
Leave equipment and materials in proper place and order at the end of shift
Must comply and ensure all team members follow with all applicable OHSA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
Oversee Inventory Management
Accepting and scheduling assembly delivery dates
Scheduling team members, accepting vacation time and monitoring employee work hours
Take part in Management meetings

Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience in Welding work
Experience with Microsoft Office and G Suite programs
Ability to use basic math, writing and computer skills
Ability to speak, write, read and comprehend procedures in English
Ability to safely operate various hand and power tools
Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime if needed
Physical Requirements:
May stand for prolonged periods of time
May stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations
Must have adequate sight to read blueprints, work orders and other engineering and manufacturing documents
Must pass a breathing test
Ability to lift light to medium weight, up to 50 lbs.

Salary: $30/ hour & Midnight shift premium ($2)
