Overview
Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to provide necessary support to the Fabrication shop in the form of assembling metal structures by welding, cutting, and shaping material.
Experience required:
1 year of welding experience (MIG Solid Wire) or Trade school
Ability to arrive on time and ready to work
Ability to communicate effectively in a professional manner
Ability to follow direction and exercise good judgment
High attention to detail
Ability and knowledge to set-up, operate, and maintain welding equipment
Willingness to learn new skills and tasks
Perform basic math
Willingness and ability to obtain OSHA 10 Certification
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
Knowledge of planning layouts and measurements, as well as testing welding surfaces
Ability to read and properly interpret blueprints, plans, and layouts
Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
Maintain a safe, clean work environment and adhere to PPE guidelines
Follow company policies on attendance, safety, etc.
Maintain a positive attitude and high level of ethics and integrity
Clean, inspect, maintain, and care for company provided tools and equipment
Willingness to perform duties outside of the normal scope of work as requested by management
Ability to ensure proper quantities and maintain quality control
Required Equipment (Employee Provided):
Welding Hoods
Hand Tools (Screwdrivers, socket sets, tape measures, angle finders, Weld Clamps, etc.)
Tool boxes
Hammers (all types)
Power tools: Impacts, drills, grinders, battery packs (provided through a company lease program)
Any specialized PPE needed for welding
