Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cutting and welding- Show ability to select the proper tips, set bottle gauges and demonstrate proper burning and cutting techniques. Select the proper rods, adjust welding machine settings, select proper PPE and perform shielded arc welding in various orientations
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes and hand and power tools etc.
  • Understands the different types of bearings. Demonstrates proper installation and lubrication/maintenance of bearings.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools etc
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level and reporting to supervisor of what is needed.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred but not required
  • Ability to cut and weld is a must
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ensure all standards of safety are adhered to at all times
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Positive attitude, dependable, motivated
  • Must be in good physical condition

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift

Experience:

  • Welding: 2 years (Preferred)
  • tig welding: 2 years (Preferred)
