Overview

JOB SUMMARY:
The Welder/Fabricator is a ground support position that will perform welding maintenance and/or repairs f ground support equipment under direct supervision within budgeted time. The Welder/Fabricator shall be expected to organize and plan work in an efficient and resourceful manner. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible to work in a safe manner eliminating waste an delivering a quality product on time. The Welder/Fabricator is a non-safety sensitive position that may not perform maintenance on aircraft or related accessories.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
1. Perform work as assigned in accordance with GSE guidelines and within estimated or budgeted hours and within HAECO standards of quality.

2. Perform such typical welding operations where standard methods and practices exist, such as tungsten inert gas welding, metallic arc welding, oxyacetylene cutting, welding and basic layout under the direction of higher skilled welders.

3. Understand production schedule and quality criteria.

4. Promote a culture of safety by monitoring self and others to assure all duties are performed within the guidelines as specified by the HAECO EH&S manual.

5. Use and safely operate all appropriate hand tools and machinery associated with the welding shop.

6. Seek assistance of GSE Lead in performance of maintenance and/or repairs as appropriate.

9. Be familiar with and perform all welding operations in accordance with the safety guidelines established by OSHA.

SECONDARY DUTIES:
1. Perform other work as instructed by the GSE Lead.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Welder/Fabricator is accountable to the GSE Lead for performing daily assignments in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:MINIMUM:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.

2. Two (2) or more years experience in welding or recent graduate of a certified welding program.

3. Read, write and understand the English language.

PREFERRED:
1. Applicable welding certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Subject to noise in excess of 85dB.

2. Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods of time and climb ladders and/or service stands.

3. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment.

4. Must be able to breath through a full face respirator.

5. Job required participation in the DOT random drug and alcohol testing program. Normal or corrected hearing.

6. Capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds.

7. Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 corrected.
