Overview

Position Summary: The purpose of the Welder/Maintenance Technician is to work under minimal supervision perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Maintain and improve facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Inspect machinery in operation to assure proper functioning, including checking pressures and temperatures.

 Works with the Plant Manager and Production to coordinate needed maintenance requirements.

 Requisitions and maintains maintenance supplies and equipment in an orderly manner.

 Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.

 Maintains inventory of assigned tools and equipment.

 Assist in setting up preventive maintenance schedules.

 Performs daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.

 Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.

 Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

 Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.

 Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

 Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

 Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.

 Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

 Weld, cut and fabricate chutes, interfaces and structural components for plant facility.

 Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

 Track and maintain electronic records on all maintenance and repairs to machines and facility.

 Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements:

 Electrical Experience a plus, (120VAC, 220VAC, 480VAC 3phase, 12-24V DC), Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC logic diagrams, and blueprints

 Ability to diagnose malfunctioning components, systems and apparatus using testing tools and equipment

 knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, compressors, motors, controllers, sensors, pumps, conveyors

 Knowledge of work order system, Preventative Maintenance, Inventory tracking, employee scheduling.

 Ability to work side by side with team members to complete job tasks in a safe and timely manner.

Qualifications:

 4(+) years maintenance in a manufacturing environment

 Ability to be on call and work weekends, if needed

 Experience with Microsoft office preferred

Environmental Health and Safety Responsibilities:

 Maintain site and personnel compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations. Become familiar with US Minerals Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures.

 Immediately report all ES&H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases).

 Complete all required ES&H training in a timely fashion.

 Follow all US Minerals facility and corporate ES&H procedures and practices.

 Attend and actively participate in facility ES&H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement.

 Provide feedback and suggestions for ES&H program improvement.

 Participate in job safety analysis activities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour
