The Welder/Mechanical Assembler will operate and maintain a safe and efficient welding shop. Welding will be expected as 40-50% of the day, with the remaining time assisting the production fabrication of industrial water systems according to quality systems and specifications.

Duties and responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications

Operate manual and or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using MIG processes of carbon steel of brackets and other supports.

Operate flame-cutting equipment

Operate brazing and soldering equipment

Safe operation and the ability to be certified on: Lift Trucks, Fall Arrest, Overhead Crane, Confined Space, WHMIS, Machine and Guarding, Lockout Tagout, Scissor Lift.

Must work in a safe manner and comply with all safety procedures and guidelines.

Maintain housekeeping standards that adhere to Clean Room Protocol. Fabricate, and assemble sub components of equipment.

Position, install, and secure all sub-components into various pieces of equipment as per appropriate drawings.

Assemble, install, and test various components and sub-components to applicable drawings.

Fabricate, assemble and hydro-test PVC, PP, and PVDF pipe spools.

Perform self-inspection to verify that all components are installed, tested and match applicable drawings and sign QA documentation.

Perform paint touch up where required to ensure product quality.

Package all equipment to meet shipping requirements (i.e.: overseas vs. domestic).

Must be able to work both first and Second shift.

Qualifications / Requirements:
GMAW 1F transferrable CWB welding ticket

Able to work as part of a team environment with minimum supervision

Working computer knowledge for Safety Training online

Working conditions

Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, starting 6:45 am to 3:00pm

Standard 40 hours week applies with overtime as approved

Usage of Personal Protective Equipment PPE (safety boots, safety glasses)

General shop work is carried out on flat even floors.

Repetitive movement such as twisting and bending

Lift up to 50lb will be required as part of daily activities.
