Tamarack is the Canadian leader in the manufacture of mobile glycol heating systems for use in the construction, oil & gas, and insect remediation markets through the Heat-King and Heat-Assault brands. www.heat-assault.com and www.heat-king.ca Tamarack is a rapidly growing company, with an aggressive timetable for new product introduction and is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking team player to join our team in the role of a Welder Metal Fabricator.

In this role, you will be an essential part of our production team by being responsible for:

– Reading engineering drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measuring and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates.

– Operating machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses, to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal.

– Fitting and joining sheet metal parts using riveting, or tack welding to fabricate products.

– Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces.

– Inspecting product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications.

– Installing and using rigging and hoisting equipment.

– Using a plasma cutter, grinder possibly a welder at times.

– When not doing this you would work with the assembly team by welding and fabricating trailers/ units.

REQUIREMENTS/DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

– All applicants must have excellent English communication skills- both Verbal & Written

– Must have Driver’s License

– Must be willing to work overtime when required

– Able to read/use a metric tape measure is a must

– Experience with powered hand tools (skill saw, hand router, angle grinders, etc.)

– Experience working in a metal fabrication manufacturing environment is a requirement

– Ability to interpret drawings and sketches

– Knowledge of/experience in MIG/spot welding

– Ability to safely operate roll forming equipment, overhead crane and forklift

– Ability to safely use hand and power tools, including a metric tape measure

– Safety focused

– Possess the skills and abilities to consistently produce high quality products and ensure quality control is maintained to the established standards

– Must be organized, flexible, proactive and interact in a positive and respectful manner with co-workers

– Knowledge of industrial/commercial fans, noise control and HVAC systems are assets

– Knowledge of Lean principles an asset

– Ability to stand, bend and kneel for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

– Able to work in a fast-paced shop environment

– Basic computer skills/knowledge

Days: Monday to Friday; 6:00AM – 3:30PM

Salary: $20 per hour
