Position Summary:
Are you good with your hands, have a knack for all things technical? Join Johnston Equipment as a Welder.
As the Welder, you will be conducting welding repairs on lift trucks and performing general fabrication work for internal shop needs and repair other pieces of equipment within a shop setting.
How You’ll Make an Impact
You will be responsible for the overall operational integrity and condition of trucks with the following responsibilities:
Complete welding repairs, repair cracks tec to various models of forklift equipment
Make non-structural modifications as required.
Modify new equipment to add sensor brackets and mast stops.
Complete repair to door hinges and undercarriage.
Design/fabricate or modify various equipment and tools for shop technicians.
Complete all required paperwork and account for time and bill time to WO’s for repairs completed.
Complete all monthly H&S training online.
Participate in other duties as required to support the business operations.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/pr minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Welder or equivalent related experience.
CWB certified an asset
Knowledge of the use of hand tools and welding devices.
Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting / rigging, maintaining the body of industrial equipment.
Able to interpret and implement technical procedures.
Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Time management and organizational skills
Customer service oriented.
Effective analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
