We are looking for a PTA Welder to join us at our small, busy shop in Oldcastle, ON. Windsor Feedscrews has been in business for over 30 years. We manufacturer feed screws, as well as other tooling components for the plastic and rubber industry. We value precise machining and require our products to be manufactured under tight tolerances.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to explore new challenges such as tighter tolerances and different dimensional specifications. WFI is looking for an individual that can work independently and has a strong attention to details.

Job Description

The position of PTA Welder will be required to set up and operate a Plasma-Transferred-Arc (PTA) welding machine that welds cylindrical metal pieces (typically 4140 or 4340 HTSR) with Colmonoy surfacing alloys as specified by blueprints, layouts, welding procedures, and operating charts. Welder will be required to inspect all welds to ensure conformance to specifications, removal of completed parts from work area, and preparation for next production piece. Will be required to complete paperwork as required and perform routine machine maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Welder.
  • Preference to those who hold a welding certification.
  • Must be able to pass a weld test per company standards.
  • Able to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints.
  • Ability to work independently in a busy environment.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Able to effectively communicate and work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comply with all safety policies, company practices and procedures

Work Conditions

  • Physical ability to lift-up to 30 lbs.
  • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
  • Overtime as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
