Overview

Job Duties Inclusive of, but not limited to:

  • Read measurements, plan and layout material
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (i.e. cut material with power saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders, cutting torches or hand tools to prepare the parts to be assembled
  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
  • Use safety precautions at all times

Skills/Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • Post Secondary Schooling is considered an asset
  • 1-3 years of welding experience required (Including any schooling)
  • Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.) is asset;
  • Ability to use power tools and equipment;
  • Committed to working safely, using protective clothing and equipment (face-shield, gloves, etc.);
  • Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal;
  • Must be mechanically inclined, be able to stand through the whole shift and lift up to 40lbs;
  • Punctual, reliable, and strong attention to detail;
  • Must be willing to learn and take direction.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Experience:

  • Welding: 1 year (Preferred)
