Position Overview

As a member of the Maintenance Team, you will report to the Area Maintenance Supervisor. You will be a team player who is dedicated to excellence in safety, in protecting the environment, and in maintaining equipment reliability. You will have a strong foundation in preventative and predictive maintenance as well as having superior skills within your area of expertise.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in the development of Maintenance Procedures;

Execute maintenance activities and stay current with latest technologies;

Collaborate with operations, technical and maintenance in developing innovative solutions to problems and achieve overall department goals;

Maintain and refine maintenance reliability, quality control and integrity programs;

Ability to work with a multi-disciplined contract group during day to day operating conditions as well as turnaround situations;

Day to day and long range trouble-shooting and optimization;

Repair and troubleshoot all stationary equipment, vessel, and piping systems;

Maintenance of equipment and system reliability;

Support turnaround planning and execution;

Together with maintenance planning personnel, steward the review, modification, development and implementation of detailed job plans. These would include information such as; task lists, labor resources (craft and skill type), tool requirements, material requirements, safety and hazardous material requirements, pre-job activities, a detailed task description and post maintenance activities;

Oversee and ensure that any contractors assigned to your responsibility meet quality, cost and schedule targets;

Demonstrate the highest commitment to health, safety, environment and social responsibility (HSE&SR) to help us grow the value of our business responsibly.

Education & Experience

Interprovincial Journeyman Welder with Alberta “B” Pressure Certificate. Ability to acquire other welding qualifications as required;

Applicants who are also a Journeyman Pipefitter will be given preference;

Grade 12 or equivalent education;

3 to 10 years plant site experience in an Upgrader and/or SAGD operation, oil refinery or similar hydrocarbon industry. Other industrial site experience will be considered;

Minimum 3 years in a maintenance function;

Demonstrated experienced in hands-on support of operations, technical and maintenance work teams;

Leadership of a multi disciplined work group during operating and turn around situations would be considered an asset;

Experienced in or have a good understanding of stationary equipment maintenance, preventive and predictive maintenance systems, RPS/RCM maintenance troubleshooting techniques;

Able to read and understand blue prints / P&ID’s / piping specifications;

Strong PC skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

Excellent communication, both written and oral;

Conduct business in an ethical manner and build relationships based on collaboration, honesty and respect;

Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain flexibility in completing tasks in an ever changing workplace;

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;

Demonstrates initiative to understand problems and collaborate with colleagues to drive to solution.
