JOB POSTING: Welder (Red Seal)

The Opportunity

The Welder will work at our welding shop located our secondary location in Abbotsford, BC. They will weld parts according to drawings provided by the engineering department for parts and reaction arms associated with the RAD Torque Systems products. The ideal candidate will come with a Red Seal ticket with previous experience.

FTE at 40 hours per week.

The Role and Responsibilities

  • To produce reaction arms according to engineered drawings and 6503P- Reaction Arm Welding Procedure.
  • They will use pre-made parts, parts that need to be modified and be able to fabricate parts to meet the required needs.
  • Be able to produce high quality consistent repeatable welds and parts.
  • Be able to trouble shoot their assigned welding machine and weld defects.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Keeping workstations clean and organized.
  • Shop cleanup and other supporting tasks. (Projects, bending, deburing, re-work, ect.)
  • Other duties as assigned

The Qualifications

  • Red Seal C Ticket (Level 1 & 2), GMAW, FCAW
  • Knowledge of basic shop tools; band saw, belt sander, drill press, angle grinder and various other hand tools.
  • Ability to read and follow shop drawings and work orders.
  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in the fabrication / manufacturing industry.
  • Organizational skills, time management skills, and the ability to prioritize multiply tasks.
  • Experience with an Aluminum spool gun considered an asset.
  • GTAW – Steel, Aluminum, Stainless considered an asset.
  • Forklift certification considered an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
