JOB TITLE: Welder/Robotic Weld Operator – 2nd Shift

LOCATION: Texas

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

Operates manual and/or robotic equipment.

Produces assemblies of metal work pieces to quality and efficiency standards, including repetitive lifting and placing metal work pieces and sheets into fixtures.

Measures dimensions of work pieces to ensure conformance using calipers, micrometers, height gages, templates, etc.

Reads and understands welding procedures and procedure qualifying record (PQR’s) for each welding procedure.

Reads prints to determine specifications and accurately complete all required functions.

Performs operator maintenance per established schedules.

Safely completes finishing functions such as grinding, sanding, etc.

Modifies computer-controlled robot movements.

Performs preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.

Develops robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.

Ensures parts are made in accordance with customer specifications.

Efficiently and effectively operates robots; adjusts and sets robotic weld machine to specifications.

Performs routine light maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot simple equipment problems but may have to call upon maintenance and supervisory personnel for complex issues.

Ensures production outputs are met and quality reviews are performed as called for.

Works in a safe manner and in accordance with safety policies and procedures.

Ensures work areas are kept clean, neat and tidy at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school level education or equivalent and specialized training which may be obtained in vocational courses or on the job.

Requires knowledge of physical properties and welding characteristics of metal, effects of heat, welding shrinkage, welding techniques and allowance for thickness.

Strong attention to detail able to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to meet production and quality standards.

Ability to work on assignments that are repetitive in nature and may be moderately complex.

Decision making and judgment is required to perform quality checks.

Positive attitude and the ability to function in a team environment.

Ability to lift 50lbs with or without accommodations.
