Overview

POSITION SUMMARY – Responsible for loading the material into the robot, starting the program, and performing a quality review of the weld to ensure the weld is accurate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Check program to ensure proper program is set to the machine

· Perform First Off Procedure including specification, place jig, check dimensions, check first product

· Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards

· Assemble items as instructed by welding prints

· Examine work for defects

· Identify and handle nonconforming parts

· Ensure welder is in proper working condition and check temperature

· Read welding work schedule

  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers

SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Knowledge of Robots and understanding of welding

· Knowledge and experience with MIG/TIG welding is preferred

· Ability to work independently or with little supervision

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or weld symbols to determine the specific welding requirements
  • Ability to provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
  • Effectively work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Ability to use measuring equipment (calipers, tape measures, and angle gauges)
  • Ability to know a good weld versus a bad weld in terms of Dee Zee standards
  • Ability to read and understand written work instructions

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred

Experience: One year of related experience preferred

Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy

Certificates & Licenses:

Other Requirements: Must pass the welding test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 – $16.00 per hour
