Essential Functions

  • Understand Safety Guidelines to be a Welder
  • Comply with Safety Devices and all required PPE
  • Certification to AWS D1.3 (Test to be provided by Winco, Mfg.)
  • Read and Interpret Prints
  • Safely Operate a variety of Manual/Semi-Automated Fabrication Equipment
  • Use measuring devices to confirm product is to Print
  • Document Quality related tasks
  • Apply correct settings to welding equipment for welding of product
  • Load fixtures properly to weld product to print
  • Hand weld standard high-volume product
  • Robot weld operator

Competencies

  • Use of a variety of Hand, Electric, and Pneumatic tools.
  • Safe usage of Manual Welding Equipment and associated tooling.
  • Following Work Instructions in written and video format
  • Reading and Interpreting Print Instructions.

Work Environment

  • Non-temperature controlled and may experience high and low temperatures
  • Moderate noise level – must wear hearing protection

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to stand 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to hear and speak to clearly communicate with others
  • Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled facility
  • Must be able to walk, frequently
  • Must be able to bend, lift, carry and stoop frequently
  • Able to demonstrate motor-coordination skills as well as ability to push, pull & grasp/hold
  • Must be able to periodically lift 25 lbs. without assistance
  • Visual Acuity: Accommodation as required for reading documents, blueprints, computer screens and machine dials; and for evaluating parts or using precision measuring instruments.
  • Hearing Ability: Ability to communicate with others and accommodation as required to monitor radio, telephone and paging systems and as needed to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Ability to work in a structured environment
  • Must be able to read and understand Blueprints

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a related field.
