Essential Functions & Responsibilities (definition of job):
Weld various parts/components as required per department
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specs, etc.
Perform manual and/or automated TIG welding process on sheet metal and/or small diameter tubular parts as required
Weld different metals such as carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel based alloys and aluminum as required
Set up welding machine and make adjustments according to work instructions/weld schedule
Prep parts for welding using work instructions, blueprints/drawings, etc. as required
Able to work to tight tolerances to meet dimensional requirements of product prior to and after welding using part specific methods, fixtures and gages
Work with ME/Weld Engineers to solve any weld related issues
Acquire certifications and perform special process inspections such as weld/macro, solder, dimensional and leak test operations as required
Perform various other duties in the department as needed such as media blasting, prepping, drilling and disassembly of product, etc.
Proficient mechanical aptitude and use of various hand tools and visual aids including measuring devices such as calipers, dial indicators and/or borescopes
Subject to random FAA/DOT drug & alcohol screening as required
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Required Qualifications:
Actively participate in a teaming environment that uses lean and 5S practices to improve products and processes
High School Diploma or GED
Technical/Vocational training in TIG welding and/or 3 years TIG welding experience
Must pass Weld Certifications per NADCAP requirements
Skill Level:
Basic computer skills
Basic math skills
Basic verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Degree/certificate in Weld Technology/Metallurgy
Aerospace/Aircraft welding background
Able to work flexible hours/overtime as needed
