Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Role/Purpose:
Performs one- on- one Welding Operator Training to all new, or experienced welders, as needed. Evaluates trainees and interviews candidates for all Welding positions to ensure they have the skills necessary to weld all parts and frame materials within the welding department. The Trainer in this position will need to train periodically on other shifts, as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Excellence in training and instruction for welding company products with emphasis on safety practices, quality, production skills, and 5’s housekeeping.

Development and updating of training materials

Uses training materials to ensure operators pass criteria for qualifications

Able to rotate shifts as needed to train

Ability to interpret job orders

Able to read Engineered Drawings

Able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Good organizational skills

Able to use basic hand tools, straight edge tools, tape measures

Able to operate a Drill Press

Able to operate a Polisher

Able to operate a Piranha Mufti-Purpose Machine

Able to operate a Large Format Band Saw

What You Need to Succeed

Required Skills:
Working knowledge of AWS, ASME, and API welding codes and inspection procedures

Expertise in GTAW and the ability to critique welds for defects and discontinuities.

Working knowledge of OAW, OFC, SMAW, GMAW and FCAW.

Must complete and pass Welding Instructor Certification within one year of employment as a Welding Trainer.

Prerequisites (Education, Experience):
High School Diploma
