Role Summary:

Flowserve is looking for a welder in the manufacture of compressors, coolers, and reservoirs. Our clean, climate-controlled shop is always in motion with a steady flow of challenging work and a customer-focused crew.

Qualified candidates will be required to cut and bevel piping and take a weld test of an 8” sch40 316L MIG/FCAW rolled out in positioner. Candidates will also MIG on flat plate. Candidates must bring gloves, welding hood, face shield, and steel toed shoes to take the test. No tools or tool boxes allowed.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints and specification sheets, using shop math and measuring instruments

  • Perform plumbing and pipe-fitting welds to close tolerances. Install and test welds

  • Personally verify the quality of finished work, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of specifications and workmanship

  • Meet production goals relating to efficiency, schedules, and scrap

  • Troubleshoot and correct process and equipment problems

  • Record accurate, timely data on computer-based systems or in manual logs

  • Apply an understanding of the process flow of documents, materials, and parts through the manufacturing process

  • Maintain a safe workplace by wearing PPE, following procedures and rules, and completing training

  • Clean and maintain machines and tools, and keep an organized workspace

Requirements:

  • 3+ years welding experience in a manufacturing environment, working with heavy metals such as 300 and 400 stainless steel, Inconel, and carbon steel

  • Experienced with MIG/FCAW

  • Must be certified to work to ASME Section IX

  • Able to use precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges

  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and drawings

  • Able to define, evaluate, and discuss quality workmanship related to welding

  • Standing for long times required, repetitive arm motions, frequent lifting occasionally up to 50 pounds

  • Demonstrated track record of reliable, dependable attendance; able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
