Overview

SUMMARY:
Take leadership responsibility for safety, quality, efficiency, team building and communication in the assigned work area.

REQUIREMENTS:
Will be expected to weld and/or operate machines based on customer demands. This need will be determined by the team lead.

The welding backup working team lead will only be expected to fall in the lead position when the
Team lead is absent, unavailable (vacation, personal time, extended meetings, etc) or at the request of the team lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform and supervise job-entry training of new employees and cross training of departmental employees.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment
  • Take leadership responsibilities for quantity, quality, and efficiency of work being done, safety, housekeeping and production flow in the assigned areas.
  • Emphasize AIM ideas on production improvement.
  • Identify and control scrap, assure that paperwork is correct.
  • Continually strive to improve direct labor efficiency.
  • Must be knowledgeable of company guidelines and utilized employee handbook to answer employee questions.
  • Responsible for any additional tasks assigned.
  • Responsible for area housekeeping plus 5s initiatives.
  • Operate overhead crane and forklift.
  • Must have the ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9000.
  • Must follow all safety procedures, policy and JSA (Job Safety Analysis).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willing to learn all the departmental machines.
  • Knowledge of ECCCO system
  • Forklift certification needed
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Use required measuring devices such as tape (Standard/Metric),
  • Flexible team player with both work assignments and hours
  • A good communicator interested in supporting the people by listening and promoting closer relationships on and between teams.
  • Willing to further education through team leader development classes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour

  • 10 hour shift
