We specialize in the innovative design and manufacture of cast and fabricated iron and steel products for the mining and resources sector, and we also expertly serve rail and transit, energy, structural and industrial casting and defense markets.

The Welders Helper will be responsible for the setup of parts and assisting the fitters and welders in daily activities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for following instructions regarding the reading of prints and work orders and planning of working procedures.
  • Material handling using forklift and overhead cranes.
  • Perform setups of materials as directed.
  • Clean welding surfaces and set up, assemble, stamping and tack weld parts.
  • Arc air gouging and grinding on pipe.
  • Assist Production Supervisor and Lead Hands with other duties as required and directed.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalency required.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lb repetitively required.
  • Crane ticket and Forklift ticket an asset.

Experience:

  • Ability to read shop spool drawings.
  • Ability to work with measurements.
  • Material movement using forklifts and overhead cranes.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong work ethic with exceptional organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and frequent demanding deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong team player.

Shift Available:

Day – Monday to Thursday 5:00 am – 3:30 pm – Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday
