Overview

Boomer Technical Resources Ltd is looking for an experienced Welding and Quality Inspector CWB Level 2 to work on a long term local project. The successful candidate will be based in the HRM area. Please note this is not a fly-in fly-out position.

Compensation and benefits package in accordance with the QCCC collective agreement

Principle Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Verify approved drawings are being used for fabrication.
  • Verify approved procedures are being used.
  • Verify approved Welding Procedure Specification are being used.
  • Verify welders are qualified for work being performed.
  • Verify that correct welding consumables are being used
  • Verify required preheating is being followed.
  • Read and understand specification requirements.
  • Communicate the requirements of the ITP’s (Inspection & Test Plans), code requirements and client specifications.

Knowledge and Training Required

  • CSA 178.2 Level 2 required
  • Preferably 3-5 years structural/bridge experience.
  • CGSB Level 2 MT considered an asset
  • Customer-centric
  • Self motivated and capable of operating in a team environment
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to recognize and resolve conflict
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Efficient use of Microsoft Office and strong computer skills
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
