Reggin Industries is an industry leader in custom metal fabrication for the commercial construction industry.

We are looking for a Welding Apprentice or Journeyman to join our team.

Responsibilities:

This job involves a variety of tasks from working in the shop fabricating architectural and structural steel components to installing the finished product at commercial construction job sites.

This may involve some or all of the following:

  • Perform welding processes: gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)
  • Install/ work on job sites
  • Reading and interpreting weld symbols, blueprints and/or shop drawings including work specifications and detailing information to determine sequence and method of fabrication
  • Laying out, measuring and marking dimensions and reference lines as indicated on the drawings
  • Applying knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns to product (or use templates)
  • Operation and use of fabrication equipment including hand tools, shears, brakes, drill press, grinders, saws, etc.
  • Trim, file, grind, buff, and smooth seams, joints and rough surfaces, using hand tools or portable power tools
  • Weld, bolt, screw, clip, caulk and bond component parts to assemble products with the use of hand tools, power tools, and equipment
  • Follow detailed instructions
  • Troubleshoot basic problems
  • Operate company vehicles and forklifts
  • Help to move and store materials and product
  • Work within the company’s health and safety regulations
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Work independently and as a team
  • Assist other team members and other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Registered Apprentice
  • CWB tickets a strong asset
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a shop environment or on a commercial construction site
  • Able to work some evenings and weekends when projects require
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Have access to a personal vehicle to get to/from shop/job site
  • Personal hand tools
  • Desire to produce a high quality product
  • Read and interpret weld symbols, blueprints and shop drawings
  • Able to work independently and with others
  • Be physically able to perform duties, ability to lift 75 lbs
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic math
  • Good hand skills and an eye for detail
  • Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
  • Knowledge and operational experience of basic hand tools and other shop equipment
  • Basic layout skills
  • Forklift experience an asset
  • Ability to take direction and work efficiently in a fast pace work environment
