We are currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual for a full-time Welding Automation Technician role. Reporting to the Division Manager, the Technician will be responsible for the welding and production of our Automation’s team designs. You’re a problem solver that is willing to work with an experienced team to find solutions. You are an expert in welding process and come from a manufacturing background. You understand the fundamentals of production welding and have a deep curiosity of learning and understanding new technology. You’re a quick study and are energized by new training and development opportunities to learn the next best thing in the welding profession.

As a Welding Automation Technician, you will:

  • Use manual welding systems to fabricate components for automation projects;
  • Assemble and build systems for automation projects using common fabrication tools such as drill presses, grinders and similar tools;
  • Program robotic systems for welding parts both onsite at location and in house;
  • Have experience with Fanuc and ABB, PLC and HMI systems;
  • Have Pneumatic and hydraulic experience;
  • Have CWB, AWS or ASME welding experience (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in production or manufacturing welding;
  • Read mechanical drawings and have a solid understanding of mechanical control systems;
  • A solid understanding of welding and automation technology;
  • Be able to practice strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Hold great technical knowledge with a willingness to learn new concepts;
  • Be proficient in using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word);
  • Have experience with 2D and 3D modeling software;
  • Be willing to take on extensive training and development opportunities;
  • Have a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license with clear driving abstract;
  • Be willing to travel across provinces as business needs;
  • Be physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling weights of up to 50 lbs, as well as maneuvering equipment up to 1000 Ibs (with proper lifting apparatus and techniques)
