We are recruiting for a Welding Engineer/Specialistfor Process and Technology Development Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze engineering tooling and equipment designs for welding requirements.
  • Arrange/provide welding consultancy and technical support.
  • Audit equipment to ensure the right Materials and components are being used in the welding environment.
  • Conduct destructive testing procedures on mig welding and projection welding tokens.
  • Investigate welding related issues to increase productivity.
  • Review welding processes, documentation and procedures
  • Diagnose problems, detect and replace defective parts, test and make adjustments to automated production equipment
  • Develop welding schedules and programs by teaching robots and setting up equipment
  • Fault recover of robot equipment
  • Troubleshoot and program robotic welding system to optimize equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure up-time of automated production equipment
  • Takes ownership of and records and files all welding schedules for all equipment on the production floor.

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Manufacturing Welding & Robotics, Welding Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of manufacturing experience in welding-related processes
  • Experience working with Welding fixtures
  • Experience in trouble shooting weld related failures.
  • Ability to read and understand Operations Standards, blue prints, maintenance & equipment manuals, etc.
  • Must have previous robot programming experience.
  • Must have experience with Fronius, Miller and WTC welding equipment.
  • Must be able to work independently and make informed decisions
  • AWS certification is an asset
  • PLC Programming experience is an asset
