Job Description

SGS is currently looking for Welding Inspectors.

The Welding Inspector is responsible to ensure the company is in compliance with all Welding/Mechanical regulations, company policies and specifications.

The Welding Inspector is the Company’s authorized representative and is to inspect and ensure that proper welding and radiographic procedures are qualified and utilized, the radiographers used are certified, the welders are qualified, sound welds are produced, and proper documentation is maintained.

Sr. Welding Inspector, accountable for project deliverables associated with welding quality and compliance. May supervise and mentor welding inspectors on project

Qualifications

ASP Certified

CWB I – preferred all levels

API 1169 certification preferred all levels

Carries a degree/diploma/certification as an engineer, technologist or technician in a related welding or NDE field;

Preference given to candidates with B-Pressure welding experience

Visual Acuity Report (eye exam) – all levels

Certification from the Interprovincial Standards red seal program as a journeyman in a relevant field; and/or

Possession of a level II NDE certification an

Working knowledge of the latest CSA Z662 and B 3 level I

Knowledge of Atomic Energy of Canada safety rules and regulations related to radiography an asset (Canada only)

Min 5 to 5 years’ experience in welding inspection

Preference given to individuals with CWB II certification
