Ocean Pacific Marine is the most comprehensive marine store and boatyard on Northern Vancouver Island. Serviced by a 110ton Marine Travelift, Ocean Pacific Marine has been providing parts and service to recreational boaters and commercial vessels in the Campbell River area since 1985. Boatyard projects vary in scope from local recreational & commercial vessels to Department of National Defense & Government of Canada vessels including Coast Guard & RCMP.
We are currently accepting applications for a
· Welding Lead Hand
The welding department at Ocean Pacific Marine performs work including the construction, refit and modification of steel and aluminum vessels. We are a CWB 47.1 & 47.2 certified company.
This is a working Lead Hand position. The Welding Lead Hand leads by example ensuring safe & efficient operations in the welding department. Estimation and project planning duties will be required depending on the scope of the projects at hand.
The ideal candidate is a Red Seal Welder and/or Fabricator and holds their CWB Supervisor certifications for 47.1 & 47.2. Experience in estimation, project planning and supervision will be considered an asset but are not required. Candidates with marine experience will be given priority.
This is a full time, permanent Monday-Friday position. Hourly wage plus extended medical & dental benefits.
