We are a leading manufacturer in Mississauga and we are looking for a Leadhand for our welding department. We have a great facility with additional welding stations. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the welding area and set-ups
  • · Performs set-up on spot-welders
  • · Perform set-up on MIG and TIG welding
  • · Adjust parameters when required
  • · Perform First off Inspection
  • · Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications and work orders to determine work requirements, sequence of welding assignments, and personnel needs
  • · Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, positioners and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools. May also perform minor operations on metal lathes and milling machines.
  • · Manages welding supply and material needs.
  • · Coordinates activities of employees in the welding area.
  • · Accountable for Team’s ability to meet production goals

Experience Knowledge, and Skills

  • · 4+ years of experience in a welding environment
  • · 18+ months of experience as a lead hand
  • · Experience with welding/fabrication
  • · Knowledge of applicable codes.
  • · Knowledge of welding techniques (spot-welding, projection weld, MIG TIG, controlled atmosphere), tools and equipment.
  • · Skill in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures
  • · Skill in both verbal and written communication.

Expected start date: 2022-02-28

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
