We offer a friendly, fast-paced environment with room for career advancement and a strong team of professionals. This is a full-time position is in Edmonton, Alberta. It will be 40-44 hours weekly and is from 15:30 – 00:00 Monday – Friday.

We are looking to fill this position immediately.

We are looking for a Welder to handle various tasks and duties related to metalworking. All applicants meeting the following criteria are encouraged to contact Forge North via the email provided below.

Skills and abilities:

  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
  • Area of specialization: architectural metalwork; railings, stairs, furniture, custom metal products
  • Knowledge of light gauge steel and custom fabrication
  • Weight handling: up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • Own tools/equipment required: steel-toed safety boots; welding helmet
  • Worksite environment: noisy; dusty
  • Own transportation; valid driver’s license
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities
  • Fast-paced environment; repetitive tasks; Handling heavy loads; physically demanding; manual dexterity; attention to detail; hand-eye co-ordination; standing for extended periods
  • Type of materials: aluminum alloys; steel, iron, and heavy metals
  • An outgoing nature, with superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization including its executive team.

Job responsibilities and duties:

  • Area organization and shop clean up
  • Fabrication of various fixtures and components
  • Inventory of fabrication consumables
  • In-shop and onsite welding using permanent and portable equipment
  • Perform other duties as required

Contract length: 3-6 months
