Durose Manufacturing Ltd, A leader and progressive manufacturer of fabricated Steel products, is seeking an Afternoon Shift Welding Supervisor for their facility in Guelph.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, The ideal candidate will have a CET/PTECH designation and/or a Journeyman in Steel Fabrication

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Key role is to supervise all internal weld quality and implement continuous improvement specific to weld quality.
  • Work with and monitor new hires to improve their weld capabilities.
  • Assist in CWB certifications
  • Manage work in progress and maintain shop production schedule
  • Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely, meeting customer delivery expectations.
  • Ensure that all company and customer related quality standards are maintained on all fabrications.
  • Ensure compliance with CWB regulations according to Quality Manual Standards and Blueprints through the use of documentation, maintenance and development.
  • Responsible to ensure hours are logged to proper job and report daily for payroll.
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with all Health & Safety regulations
  • Perform any additional duties per manager’s direction

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Community college education and/or related industry/manufacturing/technical experience
  • Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient and profitable manner.
  • Strong welding knowledge and application, FCAW, GMAW and MCAW processes.
  • Must have superior welding and grinding skills. Must also be able to recognize welder faults and correct them through training.
  • High attention to detail and very accurate with the ability to read customer supplied Engineered Drawings
  • Fitting and welding knowledge in OEM and Custom Fabrication Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer focused with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively with others, have strong interpersonal skills and be self-motivated
  • A working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, the Industrial Regulations and the Employment Standards Act

Afternoon Shift- Mon to Thurs 4:00pm to 3:30am.
