Overview
Summary: Responsible for performing, and overseeing all welding activities performed by MAN and on behalf of MAN via subcontractors. Programming of the robot for automated laser cladding repairs. Process development, qualification, and documentation of welding activities will be required.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all welding activities at Brookshire and the adherence to industries standards.
- Review weld callouts on drawings and specifications.
- Issue weld inspection reports.
- Monitor and or execute welding.
- Maintain weld database (welder continuity records, WPS, WPQR, etc.).
- Contribute in developing of welding procedures (WPS) and welding procedure qualifications (WPQR) for a variety of welding techniques including laser cladding, MIG, TIG, and SAW.
- Select, audit, and qualify subcontractors for welding in the shop and in the field.
- Perform or coordinate preventative maintenance and quality controls measures required for all welding equipment.
- Any other activity necessary to keep repair operations properly running.
Required Education: Certified Welder with GTAW certifications and/or proven experience in the area 10 years .
Required Experience: MIG, TIG ,and SAW Automated welding; WPS/WPQR creation, weld inspection.
Desired Experience:
- KUKA Robot Arm Programming Certification
- Previous experience as a Leadman
- PQR/WPS development experience
Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications: International Welding Engineer
Other skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak and write in English is required. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to adopt and live up to the company’s Core Values of being Reliable, Open, Innovative and Dynamic.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
Physical Requirements: Performs work in a weld repair shop environment , mostly standing and occasionally sitting at a computer and desk.
