An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Workshop Trainee to join our team in Aberdeen on a full time, permanent basis to “learn the ropes” in our Electrical & Welding Equipment Department.

The successful candidate will support the maintenance of the Welding Hire Fleet.

You will hold a Modern Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist with the following:

  • Service, repair & calibration of Welding Machines, associated ancillaries and Explosion Proof (EX) electrical equipment.
  • Maintenance & testing of plant, systems & equipment within the parameters of the applicable specification & procedures.
  • Identify electrical problems, using technical knowledge and computerized diagnostic equipment.
  • Evaluate the results of fault-finding, ensuring components are replaced / installed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Commissioning and recertification of plant, systems within the parameters of the applicable specification and procedures.
  • Produce a clear and concise report of components repaired / replaced and appropriate approvals obtained.
  • Populate certification with equipment details as required.
  • Assist with any other duties as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Modern Apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering
  • Hands-on Electrical Experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programmes
