Mobile Heavy Plant and HGV Engineer Job Role
- Service and repair a range of plant and machinery. (360 excavators, loading shovels, forklifts etc)
- As required by the insurance policy remove belly plates and clean out debris from all mobile plant at both sites on weekly basis.
- Diagnose malfunctioning machinery to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn parts.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
- Record detailed and accurate repair information relating to repair inspections or completed repair jobs.
- Carry out safety inspections on all plant and machinery as and when needed to.
- Ensure that work areas are maintained in a clean and tidy state.
- Schedule maintenance with plant manufacturers and keep service records.
- Liaise with the procurement manager to order the correct parts and lubricants at the best prices available.
- Read and understand operating manuals and technical drawings.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s policies including Health & Safety.
- Observe and comply with all good working practices within the workplace.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must be a good communicator and be comfortable dealing with and directing other staff.
- Suitable plant fitter qualifications for this role
- 360 excavator and loading shovel licenses
- Direct experience working on heavy mobile plant and HGV’s.
- Hydraulic experience is essential.
- Welding skills advantageous
- HGV license advantageous
